Review dates keep documents current. Set when the next review is due, assign an owner, and record reviews when you complete them.
Set the review due date and owner
Open the document from Standards > Documents.
Choose Edit metadata.
Set Review due date with Select date.
Set Owner (or No owner if nobody is responsible yet).
Choose Save.
The form also covers area, type, scope, tags and (for admins) visibility. A note reminds you that Last review date is managed from the Mark as reviewed action — you don't type it by hand.
Review statuses
Overdue — the review due date has passed.
Upcoming — the due date is approaching.
Compliant — reviewed in time / not overdue.
Not set — no review due date on the document.
Filter the list by Review status, or use Attention required to pull overdue and other follow-ups together. See How to find and filter documents.
Mark as reviewed
Mark as reviewed appears when the current version is active and a review is due, upcoming, or not yet recorded for that version.
Open the document and check the current file (Open file or View on the version).
Choose Mark as reviewed.
Confirm in Mark document as reviewed? with Confirm review.
That updates Last review date and adds a row to Review history (version number and Reviewed by:). If nothing has been reviewed yet, the history says No review events recorded yet.
Overdue alerts in the app
Client admins may see a toast: Overdue documents require attention, with View overdue to jump to the filtered list. The Standards badge also counts overdue and upcoming reviews.
Who gets email reminders
Review emails go to the document Owner. If there's no owner, those reminders have nowhere to go — set one when you set the due date. Preference labels and timing are covered in Document notifications explained.
Review date suggested from a file
On upload, ASR may offer to set or change the review due date from text in the file. You're offered Use date from document, Keep current date / Dismiss, or Remove review date. Details in How AI verification works when you upload.
