ASR reminds document owners when reviews are coming up or overdue. This article lists those notifications and how to stay on top of them.
Notification preferences
Under your account notification settings, the Documents group includes:
Document review due (30/7 days) — email when a review is 30 or 7 days away.
Document review due today — email on the due date.
Document review overdue — email (and in-app) after the due date has passed.
These go to the document Owner. Set an owner in Edit metadata or the document will not receive owner reminders.
In the app
The Standards menu badge shows overdue and upcoming review counts.
Client admins may see Overdue documents require attention with View overdue.
Reporting has a Document reviews card for Overdue / Upcoming, linking into the filtered documents list.
What to do when you're notified
Open the document from the email link, the badge, or Standards > Documents filtered to Overdue / Upcoming.
Open the current file and check it still reflects how you work.
If it needs updating, upload a new version (see How to upload a new version and change status).
When the content is still correct (or after you've updated it), choose Mark as reviewed.
If the next review should be later, update Review due date in Edit metadata.
If you aren't getting reminders
Check you're the Owner on the document.
Check a Review due date is set.
Check your Documents notification preferences aren't turned off for those types.
Check spam for mail from A Safer Risk.
Quietening a noisy inbox
Clear overdue reviews with Mark as reviewed (or update the file first).
Reassign ownership when someone leaves — use bulk Assign owner / site on the list if you have permission.
Don't leave documents on short recurring due dates if they only need annual review.
For how to change notification preferences in general, see How to choose which notifications you receive in Getting Started.
