Work is designed to be the page you open at the start of a shift and come back to during the day. It answers one question: what needs doing today?
What's on the page
The heading shows today's date under the label Today, described as "Your work hub for today—pick up open actions, run checks, and add diary entries for the sites you can access." If you have open actions, it tells you how many are waiting.
Below that are two cards and a row of figures:
The diary card — a timeline of the checks and diary entries for today. Its heading tells you whose diary you're looking at, and you can switch between Organisation Diary, Site Diary and Your Diary. Start with Your Diary if you just want your own work.
Actions — "Open actions for your selected sites." The jobs waiting, soonest first, with overdue ones marked.
A row of figures including a compliance score, checks completed today, and Open Actions and Overdue Actions. Each links through to the full list.
Everything respects your site selection, so switch to a single site to focus on it or All sites for the full picture.
A workable daily routine
Open Work and look at the date. Confirm you're on the right site in the bar above.
Do the checks that are due. Open each checklist, answer the tasks, submit it. See How to complete and submit a checklist.
Deal with anything you found. Fix it there and then and record it, or raise an action for whoever needs to handle it.
Work through your actions. Start with overdue and anything due today. Close what's done, and record progress on what isn't.
Note anything worth remembering as a diary entry — a visitor, a delivery problem, a conversation. See How to add a diary entry.
Five minutes at the end of a shift closing off actions and adding a diary note is what keeps the record trustworthy.
Adding something quickly
The Add button at the top right of the page creates things without navigating away:
Diary entry — record something that happened. See How to add a diary entry.
Action — raise a job for someone, with an owner and a due date.
Event — log an incident, where incident management is enabled.
This is the fastest route to creating an action, and it's available to everyone who can see Work — you don't need to be an administrator.
Work versus Diary versus Checklists
These three overlap, which trips people up at first:
Work — today, focused on you. Your starting point.
Diary — day by day across the site. Good for "what happened on Tuesday?"
Checklists — the full searchable list with filters and statuses. Good for finding a specific checklist or reviewing what's been missed.
If your Work page looks empty
Nothing may be due. A quiet day is a legitimate answer.
Check the site selector. You may be on a site with nothing scheduled.
Checks may be assigned to someone else. Where a checklist is assigned to a named person or role, it appears for them. The Diary tells you when items are hidden for this reason.
Nothing may be scheduled yet. If your organisation is new to ASR, someone needs to set up checklist templates and schedules first — see How to create a checklist template.
