Sometimes you need a check that isn't on the schedule — a spot inspection, a deep clean after an incident, or a one-off audit before a visit. You can create a single checklist from any template whenever you need it.
Admins, auditors, managers, area managers and site managers can do this. Site managers can only create checklists for their own sites.
Create the checklist
Go to Work > Checklists.
Choose New Ad-hoc checklist.
Pick the Template you want to use. A preview of its tasks appears so you can check you've got the right one.
Set the Due date.
Choose the Sites it applies to. You can select more than one — ASR creates a separate checklist for each.
If the template is set up for locations, confirm the Locations. One checklist is created per location.
Choose Create Checklist.
When you've chosen several sites or locations, the button tells you how many will be created, for example Create 6 Checklists.
The new checklist appears in the list and in the Diary, assigned according to the template's responsible person, ready to be completed.
Other ways to do the same thing
From the template list — go to Standards > Checklist Templates and choose Schedule from the menu on the template's row.
From the template itself — open the template and choose Generate Checklist to create one immediately.
"No templates available"
Checklists are always created from a template, so if you don't have one yet you'll see this message. Choose Go to Templates to set one up first — see How to create a checklist template.
Should this be a schedule instead?
If you find yourself creating the same one-off checklist regularly, give the template a recurring schedule instead. ASR will then create the checklists for you at the right time, for every site. See How to schedule recurring checklists and set who's responsible.
